Confirmation bias. Echo chambers. Filter bubbles. Fake news. Opinions disguised as facts. Polarization. Decline of open and civil dialogues between oppositions. These things are stacking up against humanity’s ability to think critically and clearly for ourselves.
How do we find real, credible information? How can we develop objective, considered opinions? How can we disagree, yet still converse amicably? How can we explore ideas, dissect and analyze them with fairness and without pissing each other off? Who’s wrong? Who’s right? Are these even the right questions?
Dr. Christopher DiCarlo will be your guide in this exploration of thoughts, ideas, and ways to think critically about things worth thinking about. His guests are today’s leading thinkers across diverse fields, including iconoclasts who are really, really good pains in the ass.

Dr. Christopher DiCarlo
“aka“ Doctor D
Philosopher, Critical Thinker, Professor, Lecturer, Author, Advisor, Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Basketball Player and Coach, Drummer, Storm Chaser, Home Chef, and more!
Dr. Christopher DiCarlo―aka Doctor D or simply Doc to many―is a true Renaissance man. After completing his postdoctoral work at Harvard, Doc taught at a handful of Canadian universities where he received “Best Professor” and “Best Lecturer” awards. While students admired Doc and loved his lectures, some faculty folks weren’t fans of his non-political, non-conforming, Socratic way. You could say he didn’t fit in because his thinking stood out.
Doc left academia to coach critical thinking in other arenas―from big business to prison education and reform. His commitment to education in Critical Thinking won him the Canadian Humanist of the Year Award in 2008. Doc has written many books on critical thinking, including a North American best-seller How to Become a Really Good Pain in the Ass: A Critical Thinker’s Guide to Asking the Right Questions and the latest release So You Think You Can Think? Tools for Having Intelligent Conversations and Getting Along.
His latest adventure had him writing about the future of artificial intelligence and how he sees it interfacing with humanity into the future. His studies created the book, Building a God: The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and the Race to Control It, which you can purchase here.
